Residential Home-For-Hive Program

Do you live in Upstate South Carolina? Are you interested in having backyard bees, but don't want to maintain the bees or harvest the honey yourself? Our Home-For-Hives Program  offers backyard beehive installations and maintenance. We take care of it but you benefit from it. All you need to do is provide a bee safe location free of pesticides and we'll provide the bees and everything they need. Once the hive is installed and the colony produces more honey than the bees need, we'll extract the raw unfiltered honey and share it with you. By Hosting a hive you will help  increase the honeybee population in your local area.  Honeybees are struggling these days due to pesticides, mono crops, diseases and pests. By hosting a honeybee hive in your own backyard, you can do your part to help save the honey bees one hive at a time.

We're just gonna be honest here! Beekeeping is an expensive hobby that usually includes many upfront costs.  There is a one time installation and set up fee of $600, we then accept monthly installments of $85 per month per hive on your property.

WHAT'S INCLUDED: 

• Complete Wooden Langstroth Beehive with deep hive body, bottom board, 5 frames with foundation, inner hive cover and telescoping hive cover installed at your home
• Honeybee Smoker with smoker pellets
• 1 set of bee gloves
• 1 hive beetle trap
• 1 bee brush
• 1 queen clip
• 1 frame holder
• A colony of very friendly bees
• Any necessary medication or feed required to keep your hive healthy
• Monthly visits from one of our professionally trained beekeepers
• Honey harvested and bottled for you
• Fair wages for our beekeepers

When adding up the costs of the equipment needed as well as the cost of a colony of bees plus the time and cost of education to become a Beekeeper this is a pretty good deal. Plus you get honey!!
